Valencia joined the City of Conroe in October 2020. With over 15 years of experience as an executive assistant supporting senior level executives, she has a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments. Valencia brings exemplary planning and organizational skills to the team and skillfully manages administrative duties and client relations for her colleagues at the Conroe Economic Development Council.

Valencia is a member of the Council for Community and Economic Research. She is active in the community and volunteers her time being a peer leader. She also spends a great deal of time studying the Arabic language and is always ready to travel. Born and raised in Houston, she lives in Conroe with her husband and enjoys being a loving mother to two thriving sons.

Laura Lea began her career in Economic Development in 2011. In her current role as Deputy Director for Conroe Economic Development Council, she is responsible for recruiting new business to the greater Conroe area and marketing the city and its assets to national and international prospects.

Laura Lea graduated from The University of Mississippi with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. She continued her professional education by graduating from University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute and is a Certified Economic Developer. She has also obtained her Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator certification through the Business Retention Expansion International organization.

Laura Lea currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Montgomery County Community Foundation, Education for Tomorrow Alliance, and Leadership Montgomery County, in which she is also in the Alumni Association (class of 2012). Laura Lea is an active member of the Commercial Real Estate Association of Montgomery County and serves on many committees throughout the community, including the planning committee for the Women Who Rock Luncheon, and formerly as President of the Executive Women's Alliance.

Laura Lea and her husband, Anthony, live in The Woodlands and are the proud parents of daughters Grayson and Emerson.
